We recently shared a teaser of the Spaces for Ideas Collection 2 on our Design Sojourn Blog. We have extracted an excerpt below.

The Story Book and its matching Elastic Bookmarks are made from 3 different 280 gsm colored (Yellow Cream, Chocolate Brown and Deep Blue) material. The 20-panel accordion fold is available with black (120 gsm) and white (140 gsm) paper. The paper in each book is intentionally heavier to create more structure in the accordion fold. It is also lovely to draw on. This new design has a modified hand made manufacturing process that allows flexibility by having a range of different cover colors and paper.

As production has already started, I’ll try to have pictures of the first production prototypes as soon as I can get my hands on them sometime at the end of this week.

As the quote above mentioned, we did manage to get our hands on the 2nd production prototype yesterday (11 May 2011). I‘ve taken a picture of it, as shown in the image below.

Unfortunately the quality of the prototype is not up to standard nor is it ready for a full production run. There are still a lot of details to work out and improvements to be made. As the looks of the second prototype do not deviate too much from the first prototype, I’ve decided to not bore you with the gory details.

On quick thing to note is we are trying out a new logo printing process called Hot Stamping. I like it because it gives the logo a nice deboss (recessed) and tactile feeling on the sketchbook.

Do stay tuned as we plan to get the (hopefully!) final prototype in a few days time, which we will share as soon as possible.
